Learn and Master Guitar. Steve Krenz Delivers?
Often when we hear someone playing a guitar solo we think quietly, I wish I could play guitar like he/she does. The problem is, this is usually just a fleeting thought and we forget about it by the time the solo ends. We move on to other things and forget about learning how to play guitar.
What Is Offered In The Learn And Master Guitar Website
Some time ago, I came across an e-commerce website selling a program called, “Learn and Master Guitar.” I read about the program because like most people, I enjoy listening to good guitar music and maybe this is the time to learn how to play the guitar. Everyone who listens to the radio very often hears country music, folk, blues, rock & roll and bluegrass played on guitar. Like many people when I hear guitar music the urge to learn to play a guitar returns with this course easily.
“Learn to Master Guitar” was written by Steve Krenz, a professional guitar player with a degree in music. In addition Steve Krenz has played guitar professionally in many venues. He has played with a jazz band and in recording studios with various artists and even played with Philharmonic Orchestra. Steve Krenz can really play great guitar music on acoustic, electric and concert guitars. The “Learn to Master Guitar” program received the prestigious Telly Award for Excellence in Education.
Qualifications
Like other professional guitar players he has given instructions on guitar playing to many people on and on during his guitar playing years. But, then a lot of guitar players are instructors. What I discovered as I read through the, “Learn to Master Guitar” program was this guitar player is not just an instructor, Steve Krenz is a teacher. He is a teacher who cares about the students who purchase his program. Everyday he meets with students, online, answering questions and offering words of encouragement, support and praise. Steve Krenz knows the basic principles and practices of education and they are present in “Learn to Master Guitar.”
Every other program I have reviewed in the past has such titles as, “How to Learn How to Play Guitar,” “Learn to Play Guitar in Eight Easy Steps,” or “So, You Want to Play Guitar” and similar titles. The progressive educational program written by Steve Krenz is titled, “Learn to Master Guitar,” and the three words Learn to Master intrigued me and drew me to spend a long time reviewing this program with three overlapping components.
Learn and Master Guitar Components
“Learn to Master Guitar” has three main components; a set of twenty DVD’s enhanced by photographs and graphics adding a second dimension to the learning experience. Students learn as they respond to the senses of sight, sound and touch. There is an instructional book filled with 106 pages of instructional material, the words and music for 100 Jam-Along songs, diagrams for all of the chords and each of the 20 Lessons presented on DVD’s. There are five CD’s for students to play along and in time adjust the sound so they are the lead guitar.
What I discovered is the program begins with learning about a guitar, its components, how to hold a guitar, how to choose the right guitar for you, and music theory. Students discover what makes music, how to listen to music and the differences in music: good music and great music. A practice session follows the lesson and students follow along with Steve as he plays. By comparing the position of Steve’s hands and fingers with their own in the close- up views, students learn from the first lesson the right way to position and play guitar. Many intermediate students relearn in the first lesson the correct way to hold a guitar, the correct way to strum and more. As Steve and students play one of the Jam-Along Songs together, he encourages each student and they in turn gain self-confidence; are inspired and want to practice.
Unlike many programs claiming to teach people how to play guitar, this program offers to help students master the guitar through knowledge of music and the guitar. It is not just a book with a couple CD’s or DVD’s. It is not a computer program developed, which requires sitting at a computer while trying to play the guitar. The “Learn to Master Guitar” program has 20 DVD’s, a 106 page Lesson Book filled with descriptive explanations; diagrams for finger placement; diagrams of all types of chords and music for the 100 songs recorded on the 5 Jam-Along CD’s.
The first song on the Jam-Along CD’s is the “Hymn to Joy” words by Henry van Dyke, 1852-1933, Music: Ludwig van Beethoven 1770-1827, adapted by Edward Hodges 1796-1867. A religious song, sung often in churches of various denominations. The song is presented in three different tempos for students to choose their own speed at the beginning of the program. In time students learn to fade out the guitar on the tapes and become the lead player playing along with the group on the CD.
Who Will Benefit The Most From This Course
The “Learn to Master Guitar” program is for beginners, which means those who know very little and those who even play a few songs. It is for those who play guitar and know some chords, but often they are self-taught with no knowledge of music theory or training in use of the senses. The program is also for the experienced and even the professional guitar players who want to take a fresher course.
Price
The main drawback to the “Learn to Master Guitar”, Steve Krenz course is the cost, which is $249 for the three components with only 10 DVS’s or the full program which includes 10 Additional DVD’s for $299. However, off and on the program goes on sale often with $100 discount. Many who have purchased the program waited for a sale and now are accomplished guitar players.
I read pages and pages of reviews trying to find a former student or someone who wrote a negative review on the pages of reviews online. I could not find one negative comment with the exception of a one written by a competitor, so order now and start playing the guitar like a pro.
